Black Lizards, or "Mole Lizards" are a lizard variant that lacks a typical lizard’s sense of sight, but still manages to perservere in dark environments with relatively docile prey around. This is due to their heightened sense of hearing and smell, assisted by the thin antennae on the front of its head, and are thus easily able to hunt for prey that live in the claustrophobic environments they inhabit. They shuffle around slowly and quietly, their head flashing when they sense something in the depths they lurk in. Unlike other dark-dwellers, these dark-dwellers are not sensitive to light, but are completely blind to it. While they lack functional eyes, some Black Lizards retain their eye sockets from their ancestors, and they simply act as vestigial eyes. Other than their unique senses and hunting strategy, they are very similar to the Pink Lizards. They are the only lizards that primarily reside in pitch black environments.
